Edwina Griffin is an expert on health, happiness and high performance. She won the 2010 NSW Exercise Professional of the Year, in the prestigious Australian Health and Fitness Industry Awards as Managing Director of Real Body Management, which includes brands such as Fitwomen, Fitmen, Fitmum, Adventurewomen and the Sanctuary of Light, . This award recognises quality service, industry innovation, community connection and commitment to industry standards.
Edwina has more than 15 years experience in the health and fitness industry, developing the “original” concept of Fitwomen after identifying a market need for a service beyond just fitness. Fitwomen provides an alternative approach – health is not just about exercise it is about balancing the mind and body. Edwina now mentors accredited Fitwomen professionals, which has expanded the brand throughout Australia.
Real Body Management aims to educate and inspire people by encouraging them to think holistically about their health and well-being. Edwina writes for several magazines and recently featured in, “Switched on health and well-being professionals” a book on leading health experts in Australia. She also often leads motivational warm-ups at charity events such as Gear Up Girl and the MS Walk in Hyde Park, Sydney.
Edwina is a council board member of Fitness Australia, as well as a business mentor for the Australian Businesswomen’s Network’s Mentornet programme. She has coached thousands of clients towards high performance and achieving their life goals. Edwina is writing a book on energy choices and has regularly featured on Sydney radio on a range of fitness and health subjects. For nearly a decade, Edwina has lectured and runs regular seminars and workshops for a range of clients on vitality, energy and performance as well as presenting for Fitness NSW.
Edwina is a renowned worldwide speaker and mentor for vitality and high performance. From Sydney to London, Bali to the USA, Edwina shares her insights and passion to enable individuals to make the connection between the mind and the body and how this enables the individual to create the optimal space to achieve their life ambitions. She is the vitality/performance expert for the Women’s World Summit in January 2012 and she is the Australian organiser for the 2nd international “Vitality, Longevity and Genius Conference” to be held in Sydney in 2012.
As a former elite athlete who went on to suffer from chronic fatigue syndrome, Edwina’s personal and client experiences have inspired her to learn more about the link between the mind and body, particular how to balance them. She is considered an expert on energy and life choices, training the body and mind for high performance and happiness.
To provide the balance in her life, Edwina divides her time between Sydney and the Snowy Mountains region of southern NSW. She spends her spare time hiking in the mountains, paragliding, skiing, swimming and doing any sport on offer in the outdoors. When not outdoors Edwina loves dancing to awesome music or laughing with friends – which is her ultimate stress relief!
